Founder of Kosmos Associates and Editor of Kosmos Journal, Nancy Roof, shares her story one year on from Findhorn’s New Story Summit….
The New Story Summit at Findhorn Community reaffirmed for me that a major transformation is now underway. People of all ages, especially young people, are experiencing a great shift away from the needs of the self or the few, toward the needs of the many – a shift from “I” to “We” to “All of Us”.
It was a joy to participate in the Summit and to witness how individuals and groups along the transformation continuum are coping and preparing for the new era already upon us. Some at the Summit were holding anger, others grieving; some have moved beyond these stages, eager to build new capacities and forge new models. Clearly we have collectively moved past denial or mere information seeking; we are ready for action.
At Kosmos Journal, we have amplified the voices of transformational thinkers for more than a decade. Our time at Findhorn has underscored the need to connect people and groups who are working for the new paradigm. We introduced Kosmos Seed Grants to encourage pioneers at the margins of change; we have participated in numerous actions – the Climate March and the International Day of Peace most notably; and engaged in original research to identify and connect change agents in this ‘movement of movements’.
Last year’s New Story Summit will always represent a special moment for me – when we came together as individuals asking “What is the New Story?” and soon realized that “We” are the many new stories now unfolding everywhere.
