Tuesday 9:00am to Wednesday night
For those Summit Hubs interested and able to spend time together while the Summit is in its 2 days of Emergence we invite you to consider engaging in a parallel process. You can choose to meet for some rather than all of this time.
This could be:
- exploring one or more threads of the New Story that have particularly engaged your Hub during Seed Sowing
- finding different, new or other emerging threads of the New Story that are of more interest to your Hub
- if you are an established group, network or community of interest, the chance to explore “what is the New Story for US?”
If you are a small group you may be able to do more than one of these and if in a larger group you may choose different areas to explore simultaneously (as we will do at Findhorn) but we encourage you to start with a clear choice and see where you get to.
The way the Summit enters Emergence will be inspired by Open Space Technology, a participatory process in which Summiteers convene their own groups according to what is inspiring and calling them at the time. Open Space is one way to catalyse collective wisdom. If you want to know more, you can read a history of Open Space Technology, or watch an explanatory video.
At Findhorn we will also be offering our self selecting groups additional resources that they may choose to call on when they wish; including an experienced facilitator, New Story Tellers input, expressive workshops and access to ritual guides and artists. The idea is that this deep dive into an inquiry of mutual interest is more than a ‘talking shop’ and that participants get an opportunity to tune into the collective wisdom of the group – and different groups will choose very different ways to do this.
So we also invite you to think in advance about what resources you and your ‘Summit Hubbers’ might benefit from. There may be people in your local community who could come in either for the whole time or be invited in to facilitate/offer stimulus for a shorter time during Emergence. It may be that in your country or culture there are ways of meeting that would serve and facilitation skills available (for example Center for Council, The European Council Network, the Art of Hosting, World Café, PeerSpirit and other circle and dialogue networks).
Alternatively we will be building a database of some simple and effective group processes that you can read/watch in advance or on the day to give you some guidance to follow as and when helpful. These will be put online early September, and we will email people who have registered Summit Hubs when it’s available.
