Today we celebrate the 100th Birthday of Findhorn Foundation and Community cofounder, Dorothy Maclean. Dorothy is the community’s sole surviving founder and we are deeply grateful for her lifetime of selfless service to the vast unity that shines in and through her as pure love.
Dorothy is most well known for her exploration of universal consciousness and for her contact and connection with the intelligence of nature, which gave birth to one of the community’s key founding principles: inner listening and cocreation with nature. Rather than exploiting Nature and seeing ourselves as separate from Nature and the divine, Dorothy encourages us to actualise our true nature as divine beings and become active agents in cooperating and cocreating with Nature for the benefit of all life.
Dorothy’s experiences are recounted in her books, which include To Hear The Angels Sing, Memoirs of an Ordinary Mystic, and Come Closer.
Enjoy this tribute in the Herald in honour of her centenary.
