11 January 2017 Leave a Comment

Lush profiles Satish Kumar, Peace Pilgrim, Findhorn Fellow and Editor Emeritus of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine:

“He said I was the child of her unfulfilled wishes and that I would never have gold or jewels and that I would never reach my destination. Life for me would be an unending continuous journey.” Satish Kumar, No Destination: Autobiography of a Pilgrim

“After his father died, Satish and his mother spent time following the brotherhood of the Jain monks from village to village, listening to stories and readings from scriptures. Aged nine years old, Satish left home permanently to become a monk and dedicate his time to the principles of non-violence and non-possession. It would be nine years before he reconnected with the world to follow the teachings of Gandhi and campaign for worldwide peace and tolerance.”
