Sacred Activism: Moving Beyond the Ego

24 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"We have told ourselves, and been deeply conditioned by a Story. One that has many names, but that Charles Eisenstein refers to as the Story of Separation. It is the Cartesian story – the one of our flesh robot existence, floating on a dead rock in the middle of space. It’s one of us as separate from each other, the environment, god, and our souls. "We must move into a different story. One that Eisenstein calls Interbeing. "Stop the turfwar, the labeling, the blaming, the us vs them, good vs … Continue reading

The Fourth Industrial Revolution: what it means and how to respond

23 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. We do not yet know just how it will unfold, but one thing is clear: the response to it must be integrated and comprehensive, involving all stakeholders of the global polity, from the public and private sectors to academia and civil society." Evolution’s End | Peter Russell

21 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"There's no blame for the crisis we are in. Any intelligent technological species has the potential to become a magnificent flowering of consciousness, but the side effects of its rapid evolution mean that it only has a short window of time to complete it's evolutionary journey. Facing the end of our species could in itself be the wake-up call we need." Findhorn Fellow and revolutionary futurist, Peter Russell Watch video

5 Civil-Rights Leaders for a New Generation

18 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"If you were to choose some of the toughest acts in history to follow, Martin Luther King Jr. would probably have one of the top slots. Half a century later, his long-lived campaign of nonviolence is still deeply rooted in our country’s consciousness. "But his legacy doesn’t end there. He inspired the next generation of fresh-faced leaders who are at the helm of today’s global-justice movements." Read the full story by Ozy Editors.... Continue reading

Solar and Wind Just Did the Unthinkable

17 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"Cheap oil and gas couldn't stop another record year for renewables, or a turning point for energy investment. "The sun and the wind continue to defy gravity. "Renewables just finished another record-breaking year, with more money invested ($329 billion) and more capacity added (121 gigawatts) than ever before, according to new data released Thursday by Bloomberg New Energy Finance. "This wasn't supposed to happen. Oil, coal and natural gas bottomed out over the last 18 months, with bargain … Continue reading

New Governance | The Future of Power

16 January 2016 Leave a Comment

Fantastic edition of Kosmos Online, with insights by Mark Gerzon, Philip Alston, John Foran, Kosmos Editor, Nancy Roof and more. "What is good governance? Wouldn’t it be participatory, transparent, responsive, and tolerant of different views? And in using its power and authority to shape the institutions that regulate societies, wouldn’t extreme economic disparity be seen as a disadvantage? "Maybe questions like these seem naïve. Do we even ask them anymore? It seems increasingly clear that if … Continue reading

Activists for the Evolution of Life | Nancy Roof

12 January 2016 Leave a Comment

"The only way I can deal with stories of atrocity is to try to understand the larger context—the state of the world today. Without an understanding of the unfolding evolutionary nature of reality I am lost in uncertainty and fear. The world is going through a systemic transformation from an empire to a planetary era as we create history by the life choices that we are making every day. As a citizen of the world, my care and concern has been for all human beings. Why would I limit my caring, … Continue reading
