Who are you really? The DNA Journey

7 June 2016 6 Comments

“It’s easy to think there are more things dividing us than uniting us. But we actually have much more in common with other nationalities than you’d think.

“To celebrate diversity in the world momondo presents The DNA Journey: a journey into who we are and how we are all connected as a global family. We asked 67 people from all over the world to take a DNA test, and it turns out they have much more in common with other nationalities than they would ever have thought.”

I have never known my parents how do I go about getting my dna tested. I live in australia but will be in the UK from august for 2 months, Is there any chance I could obtain the DNA test?

Pauline, there is currently a series running on SBS in Australia called DNA Nation, just watched an episode on Sat night. If you google ancestry DNA you will find a number of sites, in Australia that do this testing, and will give you the costs.

Hi Penny, just looked up onine ancestery DNA australia and it came up with three sites. Not sure which one to go for. Although I was an orphan in the Uk from birth to mid teens I do know my mother was born in Newcastle UK but I believe she is dead now. My father is iffy as my father as I believe he was just co habiting with her at my birth and in those days (back in 1952) anybody could put their name down on the birth certificate as the father, unlike today. However he was english. Wuld I best go for the UK dna???
Any lead forward would be most appreciated.
          Kind regards
          Pauline

Well for a start, one is not their DNA, their body, or connected via some string of ancestry, lol, as nice as it sounds.
