New Story Summiteer, author and speaker, Charles Eisenstein, talks about a new story of economics and the motivating paradigm behind gift-based practices.
Charles writes, “….I hardly need say that we are evolving away from a spirituality that is unworldly, seeking no longer to transcend the world, but to participate in it differently; no longer to rise above the human drama, but to rewrite its roles. It is this motivation that will inform a successful transition into gift culture.”
Charles supported the Findhorn Foundation in its recent experiment of the Gift Economy undertaken at the New Story Summit in September 2014. There is much to learn about embodying and living the true spirit of the Gift, or as Charles put it, “standing in the story of the Gift.”
