Today was the penultimate day of the summit – a day to begin weaving the threads and sharing discoveries from the emergence phase. The morning session was truly transformative. No longer were we talking over one another and pushing against structures. The Way of Council session was held in sacred circle allowing us to share about our experiences on the feeling level. A palpable stillness filled our hearts. Opening to this kind of space cultivated a richer, deeper, more connective way of being in full presence with one another.
Our first artistic offering of the day came from the beautifully graceful and emotive Samara Gaev who expressed her experience of the week through movement.
Gifted singer/songwriter, Jonathan Santos, performed a soulful original song that spoke to heart of the child aspect within us, followed by a poem dedicated the young people – the game changers – the next generation of visionaries and prophets by Samara Gaev. Summit favourite, Alixa Garcia, brought her unique brand of poetry to the stage, reminding us that there is no place that love cannot find us. Mugave Walter Nyika from Zimbabwe shared with us his joy, passion and gratitude.
Sophy Banks, from Transition Town Totnes in the UK, shared her truth simply and eloquently.
Chris Taylor offered a most appropo I Ching reading for the Summit. Chris shared, “As I understand it, this reading operates at three levels: individual, the Summit itself, and this phase in the life of the world and the cosmos (The Great Turning).” 54: Converting the Maiden You must go through a transformation that is beyond your control. In the end it will reveal your hidden potential and open a whole new field of activity. This is now under way, but you can do nothing about it.Trying to impose order, or to leave the situation, would close the way. This transformation reflects a deep, perhaps unacknowledged need. Be receptive and adaptable. Act through the woman and the yin. This process is both an end and a new beginning. If Heaven and Earth did not mingle like this, the myriad beings would never emerge. Converting the Maiden means a woman’s completion. Look at things from an independent perspective. If you stay in the shade, hidden and secure, this will bring profit and insight. The accepted date has gone by. Let it go. Draw things out. This procrastination will lead to the right time to act. A significant connection is approaching. Now turning to the future (how things will resolve): 24. Returning This is a time of rebirth and returning energy after a difficult time. Go back to meet this new energy in order to begin anew. This will bring success. Return to the Source. Let things emerge without pressure. Heaven is moving here. In returning, you see the heart of Heaven and Earth.
Richard Olivier read aloud an excerpt from a touching message from the New Story Summit Hub in Sebastopol, California who joined us via livestreaming… The new story needs to be a flexible, emerging story, so that we don’t get fixated on a new story for the next 500 or 2000 years, when it might not serve us anymore in 5 years. On a personal level: we all feel that we are living and embodying new stories daily; the question is whether the old story has a continual role in our lives as teacher. We learn from differences; so do we need suffering in order to know deep joy, and do we need to cycle through the old story, in order to emerge more whole, with a new layer or aspect of the new story embodied in our daily life? On a collective level: We need a story for, let’s say, the next 5-10 years; a story about creating a bridge that humanity walked over, from the old world to the new. Like the coming out of Egypt, the old world, and walking in the desert for 40 years, in preparation for the promised land. I know that many of us are in this transition already, but creating a story of this transition could be very powerful. Many people want to live a new story, but have the old story running their choices and actions, which creates a gap between the desire and the result. This new story of humanity walking over a bridge needs to have an emerging manual for transitioning from the old to the new. The manual may include qualities such as staying open to what emerges, compassion, collaborating with the consciousness of nature, and sitting in discomfort, as well as more concrete to-do lists in the spirit of the Transition Town movement. The qualities need to focus on the process of how you walk over the bridge, something that the public school system doesn’t teach, and the workplace and the culture at large don’t encourage. …To be continued… We send our love and blessings to you all at Findhorn and around the world. We are grateful to be part of this movement.
Summit core organising team members were feeling the love as participants honoured their contribution in holding the summit. From left to right: Robin Alfred, Ana Rhodes-Castro, Yvonne Cuneo, Richard Olivier and Gigi Coyle.
Standing ovation for the core organising team.
A transformational ritual to heal the divide between men and women and to integrate the male-female aspects within ourselves.
The evening session concluded with a song led by community songbird Barbara Swetina: Freedom is coming Freedom is coming Freedom is coming Oh yes, I know. Oh yes, I know Oh yes, I know Freedom is coming Oh yes, I know.
